Anglo-Saxon iron knife
Description
English: Anglo-Saxon iron knife. Single edged, with angled back and curved cutting edge. Overall the knife measures 114.06mm long, and is 16.21mm wide at the widest part of the blade. The blade is 5.12mm thick at its thickest part. The tang is 44.87mm long. No trace of the organic handle is visible. The cutting edge is damaged, and the knife is bent midway along its blade, and also on the tang. Evison (1987) assigned knives of this type to her Type 3, datable to the 6th to 7th centuries AD.
