English: Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch of the florid type, corroded fragment from top knob, elaborate mask with prominent brows, eyes, nose and moustache and splayed triangular projection at terminal, broken across part of upper edge of plate (old break) with small bordering rectangular stamps. 25 x >25mm. Leeds and Pocock (1971) Group V. Mid 6th century. |
