Title
Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch fragment, North Hykeham, Lincs.
Description
English: Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch fragment, cast copper alloy. The brooch has a square headplate split into three smaller rectangular zones. The central rectangular zone is the largest and sits slightly proud of the flaking zones, being decorated with a perimeter of punched crescents. Two integral side knops remain. Each knop has a moulded collar divided into three bands, and a flat circular knopped terminal. The rest of the brooch is missing at the top of the bow. There is an incomplete double pin lug on the reverse of the headplate.
