Title
Anglo-Saxon copper alloy cruciform brooch
Description
English: An incomplete Anglo-Saxon copper-alloy cruciform brooch dating to the 6th century AD. The brooch has a rectangular headplate with integrally cast side knops. The side knops are collared and half-rounded. The headplate is divided into three panels by way of the central panel being raised forward. The bow is arched and faceted and the foot begins to taper to the break. A single lug for the pin is located on the reverse of the headplate. Part of the catchplate remains.
