Title |
Anglo-Saxon copper-alloy tweezers |
||
Description |
English: A pair of copper-alloy tweezers, probably dating to the Anglo-Saxon period. The tweezers are made from one sheet of copper-alloy with flared and inturned nibs. The perimeter is decorated with a line of punched crescents. Each nib is decorated with three ring-and dot motifs set in a triangular formation. There is a fragment of copper-alloy wire lodged beneath the apex suggesting that the tweezers were hung on a suspension loop or chatelaine. |
