Title |
Anglo-Saxon copper-alloy pin |
||
Description |
English: An Anglo-Saxon lead pinhead. The head is globular with a slightly irregular and seeminly unfinished surface. A casting seam runs around the circumference of the head; at the base is a prominant ridge with a small circular indentation suggestive of where a shank would be placed.
This item appears to be an unfinished pin-head suggesting that manufacturing was taking place on site. For similar lead heads with iron pins from the same site see LIN-56F363 and LIN-56EE78. |
