Description
English: A cast copper-alloy side knob from an Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch, It is half round with semi-circular top, narrow neck and raised collar at the base with transverse grooved decoration. The back face is hollow and there is a vertical circular perforation running through the object for a now missing pin bar. The flat base of the knob has a deeply incised transverse slot for attachment to the side of the headplate. This object measures 14.63mm in height, 12.54mm in width, 8.34mm in thickness, and weighs 4.94g.
