Description
English: Inscription in the church Santa Maria della Vittoria (17th century) in Rome: “Nomini meo ascribatur victoria”, a quote from the Vulgate (Regum II = 2 Samuel 12:28) translating as “the victory shall be credited to my name”, an allusion to the Catholic victory of the battle of White Mountain (1620).
