Summary
[edit]DescriptionAngeli von forstemann.jpg | Stemma Angeli von Forstemann. This is a branch of the Angeli family of Cloz, which moved from Venice in the 15th century. According to Vincenzo Coronelli (1703), the family was born in Venice and was made patrician, getting access to the first Great Council. According to Antonio Longo (1817), two main branches flourished, the first one was extinct in the plague of 1177, the other survived but lost patricianship by unknown reason and was transferred into the cittadini originarii class in 1187, later becoming notable by their service to the State as magistrates. The family founder seems to be a certain Zonan (Iohannes), father of Zonan and Gaspare, who founded in Cloz 2 main separated branches. This coat of arms is the third change to their original coat of arms brought from Venice, and was granted in 1867 to Gustav Angeli, professor at the Bolzano University and public officer in Innsbruck, when he was made hereditary knight (Order of the Iron Crown) with the predicate von Forstemann. | |||
