Description
English: It was great to be in Burnaby, Surrey, and Vancouver yesterday. I visited the beautiful Khalsa Diwan Society Sikh temple in Surrey. They provide services to British Columbians of all faiths and ethnicities, feed the less privileged on a daily basis, help newcomers adjust to life in Canada, and much more. I'm proud that Canada is home to a vibrant Sikh community. Sikhs in Canada share a rich culture with strong values, and have made immense contributions to Canadian society. As I begin my role as the Leader of Canada’s Conservatives, I look forward to working with Sikh-Canadians across the country. …they even said my roti wasn’t bad! I had the privilege of attending a wreath laying at the Ambassador of Peace Korean War Memorial in Burnaby with my colleague @Alice Wong and Wai Young. We honoured the brave members of the Canadian Armed Forced who served in Korea to fight alongside our allies to protect freedom and democracy. We laid a wreath in gratitude of their sacrifices. We also connected with local conservatives at a BBQ in Vancouver. It was fantastic to meet such a great big group of volunteers and families here. Thank you to everyone for coming out and chatting and sharing your ideas and concerns with me! We’ve got a busy day ahead here in beautiful British Columbia and then it's off to Toronto tonight!
