Summary
[edit]DescriptionAnderson, River Winterborne - geograph.org.uk - 1374378.jpg |
English: Anderson, River Winterborne One of two Dorset rivers bearing this name, this is the North Winterborne. Winterbornes flow in winter, fed by aquifers, and often dry out in summer. They can often be distinguished by the aquatic or marginal vegetation growing in their dry beds in the summer. Here (seen from the road bridge), lots of hemlock water-dropwort is to be seen. In the background, a private bridge over the river from the adjacent manor house. http://www.england-in-particular.info/stour/s-winterborne.html |
