Description
Svenska: Anders Zorn får under hösten 1913 uppdraget att måla herr och fru Piltz. Carl Piltz var en framgångsrik och konstintresserad apotekare och ville som så många andra ur Stockholms societet ha sitt och sin frus porträtt målat av den populäre Zorn. Fru Piltz sitter i auktionens målning lutad mot en stol med hög rygg. Kvällsljuset faller in från vänster och får den paljettprydda svarta klänningen att glittra. Zorn har skickligt lyckats fånga de gnistrande smyckena och den smickrande svarta sidenklänningen. Fru Piltz är en kvinna i Zorns smak, kurvig, stark och med friskt rosiga kinder. Hennes bleka lena armar skapar en effektfull kontrast mot den annars dova ateljén. En avslutande intressant detalj är att det troligen är samma vävda tapet i fonden till detta porträtt som i den kända målningen ”Renässans” målad av Zorn samma år.
