| Description |
English: Being someone who is madly passionate about food, I love to explore the hidden tastes of India. Once on my visit to Varanasi, the oldest city of India, I came across such unexplored taste. Strolling along the culturally rich lanes of the holy city, I had no clue what I was going to find. Soon as I went further, I was totally astonished and flattered by the unique food items it has got. I was stopped by a small sweet shop, in Dalmandi market of Varanasi, which was very basic in appearance. But the immense variety of halwa it had got, was truly surprising. One of them was, Ande ka halwa! I had never heard something like this before. Since, egg being something which has been mostly seen with savory dishes, being served as a dessert here was totally a brain buzz for me. My excitement had no boundaries. It tasted super tempting. Had a strong taste of egg, and to my surprise the smell was not pungent . The halwa had egg, khoya and milk as their main ingredients, cooked in pure desi ghee. The taste was so nice and satisfying that I almost had it twice! |
