Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Ancient straining post. Probably this strainer was on the original fence put up here in the Edwardian period when these grouse moors where first tamed. The rachet tighteners are passed their best but they have still been used to attach relatively new wire. There is another fence post which is in very good condition in another photo on the mountain. 191746
