Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Ancient and more modern aerial systems. These aerials provided a civilian and military service which was at its keenest during the Cold War and the "imminent" arrival of the Russians. The system was operated by RAF Buchan, a former RAF fighter control facility. You could be forgiven for thinking that the system in the foreground was modelled on a whisky still and was powered by steam!!
