Description Au centre du quartier de la Krutenau, un jardin botanique avait trouvé sa place depuis le début du XVIIe siècle fondé par Rudolf Salzmann. Les années ont passés et à la suite du siège de la ville par les prussien en 1870, la ville décida de créer ce monument pour y entreposé les disparues puisqu'alors les cimetières hors des murs étaient inaccessibles. Après la fin de la guerre, la ville décida de créer ce bâtiment en l'honneur des anciens occupants.
