English: Ancestral Mask carved with incised designs and a face in front, with bash attached to it on one side of it using cane and rattan. Painted with ochre and lime, and used during special ceremonies. (Grace Vele)
Deutsch: Ahnenmaske mit eingeritzten Mustern und einem Gesicht auf der Vorderseite, an dem auf einer Seite eine Schale aus Rohr und Rattan befestigt ist. Sie wurde mit Ocker und Kalk bemalt und bei besonderen Zeremonien verwendet. (Grace Vele)

Deutsch: Der Ahnenschild aus Papua-Neuguinea wurde von Karl Schmidt-Rottluff im Jahre 1961 in den zwei Aquarellen "Trophäe" und "Trophäe I" verarbeitet, welche sich heute in der Sammlung des Brücke-Museums in Berlin befinden.
