Summary
[edit]DescriptionAnatomy of Penis.jpg |
English: Anatomical diagram of a circumcised penis on a middle-aged, Caucasian male.
Please note: this photo is intended for educational purposes only, please use accordingly. Meatus – point where urine and semen exit the urethra. Glans Penis – this structure is also known as the “head” or “head of penis” and commonly has a mushroom-like appearance. It is a highly sensitive area and is anatomically similar to the female clitoral gland. Corona – raised rim or ridge at the base of the Glans. Frenulum – an area of tissue on the underside of the penis below the corona. This area is extremely sensitive to light and soft touch. Shaft of penis – contains the urethra which is a tube from which urine and semen (containing sperm) are expelled from the body. Also contains the spongy tissue which fills with blood to form an erection. Scrotum – a sack-like structure containing the right and left testes (testicles). The testes are the site where male hormones and sperm (but not ejaculatory fluid) is produced. |
