The dorsal cutaneous branch arises about two inches above the wrist; itpasses backwards beneath the Flexor carpi ulnaris, perforates the deep fascia, and In hand I Superficial palmar.( Deep palmar. 542 SPINAL NERVES. running along the ulnar side of the wrist and hand, supplies the inner side of thelittle finger, and the adjoining sides of the little and ring fingers; it also sends acommunicating filament to that branch of the radial nerve which supplies theadjoining sides of the middle and ring fingers. The articular filartients to the wrist are also supplied by the ulnar nerve. The superficial palmar branch supplies the Palmaris brevis, and the integumenton the inner side of the hand, and terminates in two digital branches, which aredistributed, one to the ulnar side of the little finger, the other to the adjoining sides of the little and ring; 289 ~ -The Supra-Scapular, Circumflex, and Musculo-SpiralNerves. fingers.

Atits origin, it supplies themuscles of the little finger.As it crosses the deep partof the hand it sends twobranches to each interos-seous space, one for theDorsal and one for thePalmar interosseous mus-cle, the branches to thesecond and third Palmarinterossei supplying fila-ments to the two innerLumbrical muscles. At itstermination between thethumb and index finger, itsupplies the Adductor pol-licis and the inner head ofthe Flexor brevis pollicis. The Musculo-SpiralNerve (fig.289),thelargestbranch of the brachialplexus, supplies the mus-cles of the back part of thearm and fore-arm, and theintegument of the sameparts, as well as that ofthe hand. It arises fromthe posterior cord of thebrachial plexus by a com-mon trunk with the cir-cumflex nerve. At itscommencement, it
