Deutsch: Anatomia del corpo humano von Juan Valverde de Amusco. Der gehäutete Mensch hält seine Haut in der einen und ein Messer in der anderen Hand. Das Gesicht der Haut erscheint als Geist oder Wolke und deutet damit an das die Seele bzw. der Geist vom fleischlichem inneren Menschen gelöst wurde.
English: Anatomia del corpo humano by Juan Valverde de Amusco. A flayed cadaver holds his skin in one hand and a dissecting knife in the other. The skin’s distorted face has the appearance of a ghost or a cloud, suggesting that spirit has been separated from, or peeled off of, the fleshy inner man.
Español: Anatomía del cuerpo humano, según Juan Valverde de Amusco; el sujeto aparece desollado sosteniendo en una de sus manos su propia piel y en la otra un cuchillo para diseccionar. La cara de la piel, deformada, toma la forma de un fantasma, sugiriendo que el espíritu se ha separado de la carne.
