| Description |
English: An unusual crop There are plenty of fields on Islay covered in poles [steel, bamboo etc] with long streamers hanging from them. This is an effort to deter barnacle and white fronted geese from feeding on the pastures, a tactic which is not always successful as there are plenty of fields with both streamers and geese. |
