Summary

[edit]
Description FILLMORE, Calif. (April 7, 2017) - An unarmored threespine stickleback at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's (CDFW) Fillmore Fish Hatchery. A team of biologists and scientists from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the CDFW moved a small population of the fish to the hatchery late last year after conducting an emergency rescue in response to a fire that threatened their habitat. Unarmored threespine sticklebacks are a federally and state endangered species. Photo by Robyn Gerstenslager/USFWS.
