Summary
[edit]DescriptionAn old bridge abutment by the Tarland Burn - geograph.org.uk - 1483018.jpg |
English: An old bridge abutment by the Tarland Burn A viewer has suggested here (rather than the place slightly further east that I claimed in an earlier photograph) might be the true crossing point for the old Deeside Railway. The steep incline away from this bridge however, as opposed to the cutting that leads away from the other bridge, still leaves me wondering if the small steam locos used on the line could have negotiated this route. Judgement of Paris awaited.
The post to the right is a flood marker, graduated in feet above/below a mean water level in the burn. |
