Title
An incomplete copper-alloy strap end buckle plate suggesting a Medieval probably 13th to 14th century date.
Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy strap end buckle plate suggesting a Medieval probably 14th to 15th century date.

The plate is roughly rectangular in plan with three clear rivet holes, arranged in a triangular formation. There are possibly two more holes masked by corrosion products which could be pin slots. The axis bar is missing. The length is 13mm and the width is 11mm.

The object is heavily corroded. Only one other similar artefact is recorded on the PAS database - see BH-243BA6

Griffiths et al. (2007) illustrates similar examples of strap ends in form and in decoration style which are dated to the later Medieval period.
