Title
An incomplete cast copper-alloy Colchester Derivative brooch from the early Roman period
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper-alloy Colchester Derivative brooch from the early Roman period. The bow appears to have double central incised line running the length of the bow creating a slightly raised rib in-between. The head of the brooch is distinctly humped which creates a comma shape profile. The bow tapers to the foot and is off centre as the lower section of the bow curves to the left in plan. The brooch was originally hinged but this is now missing along with the brooches pin and much of its catch-plate. The cylindrical arms of the brooch have vertical incised lines on their ends. This brooch dates to the early Roman period.
