was, a large hole in the mud, fully fifteen feet indiameter and seven feet deep. The Court was inclined tothink that the force of the mine explosion must have explodedsome part of the forward magazines, but, nevertheless, con-siderable ammunition from these magazines w^as found intact,whereas had the initial explosion taken place within themnothing would have remained.
