Music Stand. Cabinet. gilt bronze, the dial ornamented with paste diamonds. Thecrowning decoration is a figure of Love, with the emblemsand trophies of War. This clock is of the same style and period.At each side are bronze statuettes belonging to the middleof the 18th century. They represent Cupid with his bow andarrows and the infant Bacchus with a thyrsus and winecup. Also on this table are candelabra of gilt bronze, castand chased, showing figures of Love uplifting large stemsof lilies, of the style and period of Louis Seize. At thebottom of the page is a candelabrum of lapis-lazuli quartz andgilt bronze, cast and chased. The form is that of a tripodsupported by sphinxes of French 18th century type. Withinthe tripod is coiled a serpent. The ornamentation comprises 352 Louis XVI. TABLE, CANDELABRUM, AND GUERIDON. Last Half 18th Century.
