Summary
[edit]DescriptionAn eye opening note to a section in the museum displaying personal effects of some of the victims (49495739867).jpg | Hiroshima totally annihilated by the USA's atom bomb in 1945- picture 7 of 13: An eye opening note to a section in the Peace Memorial Hall museum displaying personal effects of some of the victims. Granted that the Japanese were not angels during the war either, and committed many atrocities in SE Asia, but to punish them for that by wiping out and entire city and half it's population defies logic. Still, I find that there is no animosity in Japan about America- the new generation has indeed moved on. This is something which surprised me in Vietnam as well- despite the USA double crossing Vietnam and siding with France instead when Vietnam asked for help to oust the French, and then going through the Vietnam War and 'celebrating' their defeat by spraying Agent Orange on the country's agricultural bits, the current generation has moved on even in Vietnam, and when I visited in 2016, someone actually told me that not all Vietnamese are happy that Vietnam won as they admire the American way of life. Some do not even want Saigon to be called HCM and prefer the original Saigon instead. But I digress- let's get back to Hiroshima, where this picture was taken. Detailed notes about the USA's atom bomb attack over Hiroshima and other details appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures) (Hiroshima,Japan, Apr/ May 2019) |
