By the Fvedera, vol. xviii. p. 99., we find that there was issued to him, in conjunctionwith the Earl of Arundel and others, a coipmission to prevent the building on new found-ations within two miles of London and the palace of Westminster ; and in 1620 he was, ifpossible, more uselessly employed by James I. in guessing, for it was no more, who werethe builders of Stonehenge.
