Summary

[edit]
Description A large bell hangs in a shrine next to the seven storeyed Thien Mu pagoda. I guess it is rung at prayer times and on special religious occasions. The small notice at the entrance was entirely in Vietnamese, a standard feature I observed all over Vietnam where English is practically absent in most public signs. Cast in 1710, this bronze bell is said to weigh over two tonnes. It's gong is said to be heard for over a 10km radius. In days past, when there was not so much development around the pagoda, the gong of this bell was supposed to have been heard all over Hue. (Hue, Central Vietnam, Nov. 2016)
