Title |
An alchemist in his studio |
||||||||||||||||||||
Description |
The alchemist's workroom, cluttered with broken vessels and scattered papers, is lit with warm yellow light from the double window at left. Through a large archway we see the alchemist at work by his desk, studiously engaged in reading and writing. Beside him, a small portable furnace filled with glowing coals heats a glass distillation apparatus. This chamber shows evidence of both practical work and scholarly research pairing the celestial globe and many books with well-used tools and vessels. |
