Description

This is breeding season for these beautiful birds. They have a certain attitude which I love - they kind of keep this angry / annoyed / unhappy expression at our presence. Tried to get down from the vehicle and shoot a ground shot, but the bird wasn't keen on that.

The Small Pratincoles are small birds under 20 cm in height and found across South Asia and South East Asia near the edges of water bodies. They prefer dry lake banks to breed during summers and lay their eggs on the ground. It is hard to spot a chick, but last year I had a bit of luck spotting a few.
