An Early Medieval Anglo-Scandinavian Gaming Piece
Description
English: A lead alloy bell-shaped Early Medieval Anglo-Scandinavian probable gaming piece dating from about 800-1000. It is undecorated and has a slightly concave base and a rounded top. The gaming piece is conical in shape and it tapers upward from the base, where the diameter is 17.8mm, to the top, where the diameter is 6.9mm. The gaming piece has a medium brown and creamy white patina. See Mainman and Rogers, Finds from Anglo-Scandinavian York, pages 2564-2565.
