Description

US Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro, and his wife Mrs. Julie Fisher, visited the Sheba Medical Center to get a first hand understanding of the advances in clinical treatment and medical research. Director and CEO of the Center Professor Zeev Rotstein provided an informative tour of the impressive campus and highlighted the partnerships between Sheba and leading U.S. medical institutions such as, MD Anderson Cancer Center of Texas, the Mayo Clinic of Minnesota, Case Western University, New York Presbyterian, and many more.

Alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania Children’s Hospital and director extraordinaire of the Center for Medical Simulation(MSR), Professor Amitai Ziv demonstrated the amazing array of simulator technologies that help doctors from Europe, the Palestinian Territories, North Africa, and the U.S. perfect their procedures before working on actual patients.

Ambassador Shapiro was impressed with the compassionate approach to treatment of patients and their families. "This is a hospital with a soul." He said that he was "gratified and very excited to learn of the many intricate and deep medical partnerships between Sheba doctors and scientists and their American counterparts."
