فارسی: سد امیرکبیر که سد کرج هم نامیده می‌شود، بر روی رودخانه کرج در شمال شهر کرج و در ۲۵ کیلومتری جادهٔ کرج به چالوس قرار دارد. این سد، اولین سد چندمنظورهٔ کشور ایران، و یکی از منابع تأمین آب شهر تهران می‌باشد. دریاچهٔ این سد، یکی از مراکز طبیعی مهم پرورش ماهی‌های قزل‌آلای رنگین‌کمان و قزل‌آلای خال‌قرمز و ماهی سفید و ماهی سیاه است. انباشته شدن آب رودخانه کرج در پشت سد امیرکبیر علاوه بر کارایی آن در تولید انرژی برقابی و تأمین بخشی از آب آشامیدنی شهر تهران، باعث بوجود آمدن دریاچه ای زیبا گردیده‌است که موجب استفاده‌های گردشگری و تفریحی و ورزشی از سد کرج شده‌است و یکی از بهترین استراحتگاه‌ها و جاذبه‌های طبیعی کرج را بوجود آورده‌است
English: The Amir kabir Dam was built as a multi-purpose dam to provide tap water for Tehran alongside agricultural development in Karaj. It supplies the irrigation demand of over 50,000 hectares (120,000 acres) of farm land near Karaj. The power plant has been connected to the national electricity network for over 46 years and has a capacity of 90 megawatts. The lake behind the dam is a touristic attraction while being a natural habitat for rainbow trout. With its sailing and water-skiing facilities, the dam is a popular weekend summer resort |
