Português: Escultura do artista Amilcar de Castro, instalada no Hall das Bandeiras do Palácio da Inconfidência, em 1988, que marcou a abertura da IV Constituinte Mineira e o bicentenário da Inconfidência. A escultura retrata o sentimento do artista em relação à reabertura política do País. "O triângulo dá passagem à representação popular e aponta o caminho da construção democrática; o círculo simboliza a aliança sociedade-poder legislativo, fonte e síntese da vontade geral", lê-se na placa que acompanha a obra.
A obra de aço, que ocupa uma área aproximada de 30 m², foi totalmente produzida e executada pela Usiminas e é uma das mais conhecidas e importantes obras públicas de Amilcar de Castro, tendo se tornado símbolo da luta popular. O monumento tem a forma circular, com 6 metros de diâmetro, e chapas de 5 cm de espessura e é resistente à corrosão atmosférica. |
