. This construction in-volves the placing of a horizontal lattice-work extending betweenthe top of the main frame and the top of the intermediate frame,upon which all cables extending between the three frames may beled in the most direct manner. In order to prevent the criss-crossing and consequent tangling of the cables on this horizontalrack, the distributing frames are so proportioned with respect toeach other that a bay of relays will be made just as wide as the in-terval occupied by three arrester strips on the main frame, and thisbay will be provided with the same number of relays as there arearresters on a corresponding space on the main frame. This makesit possible to extend all cables straight across between the frames,thus securing a systematic arrangement without piling up the cablesin a compact mass.
