| Description |
English: American memorial I was one of the few people to have witnessed this plane crash in 1976.
It was a hot sunny day and I was enroute to Wisbech on my boat on the Nene, we had a terrific thunderstorm and as I had no waterproofs I was sheltering under the forward cabin looking westwards. There was a great big fireball erupted from the ground and I thought maybe a tractor or vehicle had been struck by lightning but then a few seconds later another fireball dropped out of the sky. When I rode my bike back from Wisbech the place was full of US trucks. |
