But it is wellknown that at least half of the vagus influence can be diminatedby section of one vagus without any appreciable disturbanceof the gastric tonus. In general the hunger rhythm of the pouchin Dog II resembled that of the stomach in dogs with sectionof both vagi. In this animal (Dog II) the amount of vagiconnections with the motor mechanism of the pouch was notsufflcient to maintain the normal tonus. It is also evident
