To thissteel work are secured the hinges for the doors and the wholeis encased in concrete, only the hinges and conductor bracketsprojecting through. Between columns A is girder A reinforced on the bottom bytwo 6-in., 8-lb. channels riveted to the steel work of the col-umns. In addition there are other horizontal and vertical re-inforcing rods to suitably form the eaves and gutter and to tieto the beams. Columns B are reinforced by four J-s-in. plain round rods,which are tied every 12 in. with ^-in. wire ties. Columns B areconnected at the top by girder B, which has a total depth of 2ft. 10 in. and a width of 12 in., being reinforced on the bottomby five i-in. square twisted rods, 3 being straight and 2 lientup at the ends. Between girder A and girder B there are three beams, twocoming at the posts and one in the center, which have a total 219 220 AMERICAN ENGINEER AND RAILROAD TOLTRNAL June. 1911.

These are reinforcedby three i^-in. square twisted rods, two straight and one bentup at the ends, together with the stirrups of M-in. round iron. Columns C are connected by girder C, which is the same asgirder B in section, but has five i,4-n. square twisted rods forreinforcing. Between girders C and B tliere are four beams,two at the posts and two spaced midway between, having asection the same as between A and B, but having four i-in.square twisted rods, two of which are bent up at the ends, inplace of three i;:i-in. rods. Between columns D is girder D, which is 2 ft. 10 in. in depthand 12 in. in width and is reinforced with four i-in. squaretwisted rods, two bent up at the ends and other reinforcing toform the eaves and gutter. Between girders C and D the samebeams as between B and C are continued. It will be noticed that the span between girders C and D isshorter than between C and B,
