As thechild grows older, he can be taught toput his clothes away himself, in their proper places, and the arranging of themin the chiffonnier will be a constantdelight. If possible, have a window seat,cushioned in some soft, dainty fabrics,where the youngster may sit and watchthe goings on in the busy world out-side, when his playthings lose theirattractiveness. The windows should be shaded withsimple muslin curtains, tied back withribbons. These curtains are very easilykept fresh, and no amount of launderingwill make them look shabby, until theyare entirely worn out. The floor should never be carpeted.Let it be of soft wood, painted, or ofhard wood, stained, oiled or varnished.The fewer rugs you have, the better, asthey are a perfect storehouse for dirt,and require disinfecting at least once aweek. If a rug is desired, however, Ishould recommend one made of flannel,
