Italiano: "Donna a mezzo busto in abito bianco con scollo ornato di perle e fermato al centro da un gioiello. I capelli sono acconciati in due bande che si innalzano sulla fronte. Sul fondo un cielo azzurrino

La forma ovale del dipinto, ed il contenuto figurativo trovano riscontri nella ritrattistica francese della prima metà del secolo XVIII; l'opera fa coppia con un altro ritratto di Castelnuovo. La tipologia dell'abbigliamento, la fisionomia del volto e il tipo di acconciatura riprendono soluzioni attuate da ritrattisti francesi quali Rigaud, Largilliere, Gobert e Cotilleau. Tuttavia la condotta pittorica impacciata allontana questo dipinto dagli omologhi d'oltralpe"
