Description

Amanita murrilliana Singer

Image location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA

Growing under pine. Shallow and just barely visible striations on brownish/goldish cap. PV is thin and fragile. I lost a chunk of the volva in digging out the fb but what remained was thick. A strange discolored portion of the stipe appears to be tissue of some kind besides the stipe.

Fb was buried deep.
