Description
Español: Fotografía tomada al amanecer desde la plaza central de Vilcas Huamán, se puede observar cómo llegan los rayos del sol al Sitio arqueológico Pilluchu, Se encuentra al suroeste de la ciudad de Vilcashuamán, a una distancia aproximada de 6km. El clima es frígido y la temperatura baja aun más en época de invierno. Es un cerro elevado de difícil acceso. En la parte superior se nota una explanada que abarca aproximadamente 2 hectáreas. Allí se observan cinco Chullpas de forma cilíndrica y cuyos cimientos y techos son hechos a base de piedras y/o lajas de forma plana, provistos de una puerta pequeña y ventanas correspondientes a la época chanca. Se considera a este cerro el "Apu" principal de los chancas, desde donde se puede divisar el contorno paisajístico y sobretodo el curso del río Pampas. Esta a una altitud de 3,900 m.s.n.m., a 8 Km. de la ciudad de Vilcashuamán. El acceso es a pie, y se hace en unas dos horas. Los primeros asentamientos humanos de la zona de Vilcashuamán se remontan a los diez mil años A.C. La zona toma importancia durante el dominio de los Chancas, quienes siguieron el curso del Río Pampas, asentándose en casi todo el territorio de la actual provincia de Vilcashuamán especialmente en las partes altas.
