Description
Deutsch: Eine Ballonaufnahme von 1895 des Platzes „Am Knie“ (heute Ernst-Reuter-Platz) in der Stadt Charlottenburg (heute Teil von Berlin), mit Blickrichtung Westen. Die Berliner Straße (heute Straße des 17. Juni) läuft vom unteren Bildrand zum „Knie“ und knickt ab (dort heute Otto-Suhr-Allee). Zum oberen Bildrand setzt die damals noch schmale Bismarckstraße fort. Norden ist auf dem Bild auf der rechten Seite. Den größten Teil nehmen die Villa Siemens und das Baugelände der späteren Physikalisch-Technischen Reichsanstalt ein. Rechts der Landwehrkanal mit zahlreichen Kähnen; am Ufer das Gaswerk Charlottenburg.
