Summary
[edit]DescriptionAlveolar proteinosis 2.jpg |
Alveolar proteinosis The alveoli are filled with granular eosinophilic surfactant-derived phospholiids and proteinaceous material. Alveolar proteinosis is the result of defective surfactant clearance from the alveoli due to macrophage dysfunction often associated with immunodeficiency states. Macrophages containing ingested lipid are seen within alveoli. |
