Deutsch: Die alte Kirche von St. Konrad, Speyer-Nord, Speyer. Aus unserem Familienalbum, meinem Lieblingserbstück. Mit dieser Kirche, inzwischen ersetzt durch eine große moderne Betonkirche, identifizieren sich wohl immer noch alle Siedler, die das Kirchlein noch kennen. Und trauern ihm nach. Links befindet sich das Schwesternhaus, wo oben heute der Kirchenchor übt und unten die Küche für den Pfarrsaal ist. Im Hintergrund der heutige Pfarrsaal, in dem die Schwestern die Woche über den Kindergarten betrieben. An Wochenenden fanden dort die Veranstaltungen der Pfarrgemeinde statt von den Faschingstänzen bis zum Pfarrfest und dem Weihnachtsspiel. Der Saal war auch immer der Übungsort des Männergesangverein St. Konrad, aus dem bald ein gemischter Chor wurde.
Diese Gebäude und das Siedlergemeinschaftshaus sowie der Gemeindesaal der Protestanten im Eichenweg waren jahrzehntelang der gesellschaftliche Mittelpunkt der Siedlung. |
