There are photos of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument taken from its entrance. But I find this view, from the path entering Riverside Park to be the most interesting and dramatic. Looking closer one can see clearly the words "The Union" The full, raised marble, inscription reads: "To the memory of the brave soldiers and sailors who saved the Union".
