Deutsch: Ölgemälde "Glorie des hl. Benedikt" (Johann Georg Schamo, Limburg,1762) im Auszug des Hochaltars der Pfarrkirche St. Peter und Paul in Villmar. Das Gemälde zeigt Szenen aus dem Leben des Heiligen, nach dem zweiten Buch der ‚Dialogi‘ von Papst Gregor dem Großen.
Links unten: Der Mönch Romanus versorgt den in der Höhlenklause von Subiaco (Mittelitalien) lebenden Benedikt mit Brot, das er in einem Korb hinablässt. Rechts unten: Zur Überwindung sinnlicher Versuchungen wälzt sich Benedikt in Nesseln und Dornen. Links oben: Der zersprungene Becher erinnert an den gescheiterten Giftanschlag auf Benedikt als Abt, den Mitbrüder verübten, da sie die Beachtung der Ordensregeln nicht ertrugen. Rechts oben: Der Rabe erhielt von Benedikt den Auftrag, vergiftetes Brot fortzutragen, mit dem ihn der Priester Florentius aus Neid töten wollte. Mitte oben: In einer kosmischen Vision erhebt Benedikt seinen Blick zu einem strahlenden Licht – über dem Gemälde dargestellt als ‚Auge Gottes‘ im Strahlenkranz. Bildmitte: Als Benedikt starb (21. März 547) sahen Mitbrüder in einer Vision seine Seele über eine von Lampen erleuchteten Treppe zum Himmel emporsteigen.
