Description
  • English: Erotes playing with the weapons and chariot of Mars, panel from an altar dedicated to Mars and Venus. Marble, Roman artwork of the end of the reign of Trajan (98-117 CE), later re-used under the Hadrianic era (117-132 CE) as a base for a statue of Silvan. From the portico of the Piazzale dei Corporazioni in Ostia Antica.
  • Français : Amours jouant avec les armes et le char de Mars, panneau d'un autel consacré à Mars et Vénus. Marbre, œuvre romaine de la fin du règne de Trajan (98-117 ap. J.-C.), réemployée sous le règne d'Hadrien (117-132 ap. J.-C.) comme base pour une statue du dieu Silvain. Provenance : Ostia Antica.
  • Italiano: Lato destro del cosiddetto "Altare di Marte e Venere", ara romana di epoca traianea, riutilizzata in epoca adrianea (nel 124 d.C.) come base per una statua del dio Silvano. Proviene da un sacello del Piazzale delle Corporazioni, ad Ostia Antica, ed è oggi esibito nel Museo di Palazzo Massimo alle Terme a Roma. Il rilievo rappresenta un gruppo di Amorini che giocano con le armi e il carro di di Marte.
